COVID-19 Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: Will the Ann Arbor Board of REALTORS waive MLS fees based on the COVID-19 pandemic?

A: There is not a plan in place today to waive dues, MLS & Lockbox fees. The due date for the April 2020 invoice has been extended to May 31st.  As conditions evolve, the Board of Directors and staff will remain in communication, and we expect to make additional decisions at the May 5th Board of Directors meeting.

Q2: Why was the ShowingTime icon removed from the MLS system? 

A: Real estate agents and brokers are currently NOT considered to be “critical infrastructure workers” in the state of Michigan and thus a possible liability for keeping the icon available. We have removed the icon from the MLS system, as have other Multiple Listing Services in Southeast Michigan that we share data with.  You may login directly to Showing Time if you would like to schedule a Virtual Showing if permissible. 


Q3: Is AAABOR MLS considering suspending or removing the DOM during the Governor’s executive order?
A: Although this has been a topic of discussion, the belief is that no change should be made to how Days on Market are calculated during this time period.   The number of days that a listing is on the market is valuable information, retaining that information will be an important part of determining how the COVID-19 virus affected the market during this historic time period in world history.

Q4: Is there a restriction on entering listings into the MLS system? 

A: Any new listing is required to be entered within 3 calendar days of receiving all necessary seller signatures.   There are no changes to this policy.

The Ann Arbor Area Board of REALTORS® office will be open for curbside pick-up between the hours of 9:00am - 4:30pm Monday-Friday. Curbside pick-up/drop-off is available by appointment. Please call (734) 761-7340 to schedule your appointment. If you need any assistance or help, our team is available over the phone Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm.

New Billing Schedule

Directors Approve $40 MLS Credit

User fee credit helps segue into the 2021 Four Similar Payment Format

In 2021, MLS user fees along with AAABoR, Michigan REALTOR® and NAR dues for 2022 will be combined into four (4) similar payments payable at the end of January, April, July and October of 2020. The January invoice for Dues and MLS user fees for most members will be $313.25.  Additionally, there will be no charge for January MLS & Lockbox services for current full MLS subscribers ($40.00 credit towards January 2021 MLS & Lockbox services) and no invoices due during the months of November and December 2021.   Additionally, each of the four invoices will include an optional $15.00 RPAC II (issues investment) opportunity rather than the typical $60 ask at the end of the year.

If your membership qualifies at a different rate such as Emeritus status, Lifetime status, secondary REALTOR® membership or non-REALTOR® subscriber, the total amount invoiced will not change from 2020 but will be divided into 4 equal payments.
