Thanks to all who participated and attended the January 26, 2017 General Membership Meeting. Board President Ed Ridha of the Charles Reinhart Company led the meeting, which kicked off with announcements and a welcome to new Board members.
2017 Board President Ed Ridha was installed by his wife and fellow Reinhart agent Lisa Ridha.
2017 Committee Chairpersons were introduced and the 2016 Committee Chairpersons were recognized. Outgoing Treasurer Todd Lands and outgoing Directors John Ramirez and Tracey Roy were also recognized.
This year, the Board voted to rename the Environmental Awareness Awards to honor Eunice L. Burns, instrumental in creating the award, who sadly passed away in 2016.
Congratulations to the recipients of the 2017 Eunice L. Burns Environmental Awareness Awards, Alex Young of Zingerman's Roadhouse and Faith in Action.
Alex Young, Chef and Founder of Zingerman's Roadhouse and Cornman Farms, was awarded for his dedication to environmental efforts in his businesses as well as his dedication to teaching the youth of our community about environmental and agricultural efforts.
Nancy Paul, Director at Faith in Action in Dexter, accepted the award on behalf of Faith in Action for their efforts to recycle and reuse all clothing, electronics, food, medical supplies and additional items that are unusable by the Faith in Action pantry.
2016 President Matt Miller of the Charles Reinhart Company was recognized for his wonderful service to the Board in 2016 and gave his remarks as outgoing President.
