NAR Code of Ethics Training:  Every 3 years on December 31st.   This cycle runs from January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2021.

New Real Estate Agents

Bring the completed New REALTOR® Application (signed by your broker) AND verification of your state issued license to the AAABoR Board office (to be initiated within 30 days of the license being issued per AAABoR's Bylaws).*

To avoid processing delays, please obtain the most current copy of the application from our AAABoR's Website.

You are then required to complete an online Code of Ethics course and subsequent New Member Orientation. After completion of these requirements, you are allowed to use the trademarked symbol and the term REALTOR®, attend member functions, vote in elections, and share in other member benefits.

*Note: Payment of the pro-rated dues and a one-time application fee must be paid upon AAABoR's receipt of the completed application.

New Brokers

Bring the completed Broker Application AND verification of your state issued license to the AAABoR Board office.

New Real Estate Agents Not Wanting to Join AAABoR

Bring the completed Non-Member Salesperson (NMS) Application (signed by your broker) to the AAABoR Board office.*

The broker is responsible for all Board related financial obligations AND Code of Ethics charges. The NMS agent is not allowed to use the trademarked symbol or the term REALTOR®, attend member functions, vote in any elections, or share any other member benefit.

Affiliate Membership

Affiliate membership is for individuals who are not actively engaged in the real estate profession, but who have an interest in the activities of the association, including access to resources, programs, services, and information.

The Ann Arbor Area Board of REALTORS® is pleased to offer you the opportunity to join the association as an Affiliate Member. Your membership opens the doors to an array of membership programs and services, and a variety of marketing and networking opportunities that will put you closer to the people who use your products and services. Affiliates have the opportunity to attend or sponsor Board events and classes. In addition, Affiliate members have the opportunity to send two email broadcasts to our membership per year.

Affiliate membership is open to qualified individuals whose firms and businesses offer goods and services used by real estate professionals and/or their clients and customers.

Procedures to Join AAABoR as an Affiliate

Submit your completed Affiliate Application with payment to the AAABoR Board office.

Online Code of Ethics for New Members

The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) requires each new member to complete Code of Ethics training within 60 days of applying for membership. Upon completion, NAR will issue you’re a Certificate of Completion. Please submit this certificate to AAABoR by email to Angella at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., fax (734) 747-7277, or drop of at the office. (NOTE: Your membership and benefits will be terminated if we do not receive your Cirtificate of Completion within 60 days of application.)

To take the online Code of Ethics you must first set up an account with NAR. No credit card is needed and the Code of Ethics course is free. You'll need your NRDS number that will be e-mailed to you with your MLS user name and password after you've submitted your membership application, application fee and dues.

Orientation

After receiving your certificate, AAABoR will schedule your for the next Orientation class that is held at the Board office. (NOTE: You must complete one of the next two Orientation sessions, offered once per quarter, to avoid termination of your membership.)
